Melissa joined the ranks of homeownership in June 2005. “What was nice is that I was able to pay for the repairs and updates along with the mortgage,” Melissa said. “I did a lot of the work myself, which helped save on labor costs.” Melissa, works at a local home improvement store and continues to make improvements to her home. “I like to decorate, and when you live in an apartment, you can’t make many changes. Now, I’ve got color in every room.”
